Job description

The successful candidate will work on-site at a client in Kamiyacho as a security consultant as part of an existing managed services agreement. The role will involve managing our client’s in-house IT security needs and also facing our client’s external customers for any IT security-related issues (for example, on—boarding 3rd parties to our client’s business systems or platforms).

Job responsibilities

•    Complete security questionnaires for client companies by gathering the necessary information from other teams, such as Operations, Information Technology, and others as necessary
•    Support client audits by attending calls and meetings, as well as providing all information and documents as requested
•    Work closely with the client’s US-based security team members for guidance on all security matters
•    Engage with client’s technology partners on security priorities, understanding their current security tools and practices 
•    Identify potential security gaps and propose remediation plans to the client’s security team through periodic risk assessment and reporting
•    Support client’s security team for managing policies and implementing ISMS and ISO 27001 framework
•    Work with other IT and business teams to assess the risks, propose solutions, and enforce client’s security policies
•    Leadership role for understanding and complying with Japanese data protection and related regulations such as “privacy mark”, and “the guideline to protect personal information for the financial institutions made by the Japanese FSA”
•    Responsible for handling security incidents and coordinating incident response with other teams (security, Legal, IT operations, etc.)
•    Ensure periodic access review and certification by system owners
•    Provide user awareness and education to reduce security risks
•    Be flexible to work off-hours with client security and MSP teams in US and India

Job requirements

•    Formal education and at least 4+ years’ experience in IT security
•    Work from the client Tokyo location (Kamiyacho)
•    Serve as the contact point for all client security matters
•    Fluent Japanese language skills (verbal, written) 
•    Conversant English language skills (verbal, written)   
•    Ability to lead communications with internal customers and external clients, including strong presentation skills 
•    Customer focus mindset
•    Effective interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills
•    Good understanding of current security threat landscape
•    Ability to learn the client’s business domain, technology solutions, and vendor capabilities
•    Knowledge of SIEM, firewall, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, DLP, network security technologies

Preferred Skills:
 Client-service experience with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
 Demonstrated experience with cross-functional collaboration and influencing
 Security certification a plus (CISSP, Security+, CEH)
